What is our Gearbox Rebuilding Process?

Almost every engine transmission rebuild is different, but our overall process guides how we work with our customers’ vehicles. In every case, we’ll be sure to keep you informed about the progress and meticulously document the gearbox repair or rebuild with photographs and a tolerance record sheet.

• Step 1 – Initial consultation
  We begin with an initial consultation to determine the future use, budget, and specifications to be achieved for your gearbox rebuild.
• Step 2 – Deposit & payment options
  We require an initial deposit upon instruction (normally 30%). Depending on the complexity of the gearbox rebuild, we can accept stage payments or a balance on completion. Finance options are also available for high-budget builds if required.
• Step 3 – In-house bedding-in procedure
  If the vehicle is present for the rebuild, we perform the ‘bedding-in’ procedure in-house. This involves installing running-in oil and driving your Porsche for 800-1200 150 miles to ensure optimal performance and durability of the gearbox.
• Step 4 – Post running-in service
  After the running-in period, we refill the oil and perform any necessary adjustments, such as a thorough inspection and fine-tuning of the gearbox components.
