High flow filters for RSR/ST high butterfly intake system
To achieve quality filtration and retain a period looking engine bay for early 911 with RSR, ST look is not an easy challenge. The high butterfly intake system, as used on period Porsche race engines is often replicated with hard to find genuine parts, or reproduction. The intake trumpets in period were run without filtration which leads to premature engine wear. Maybe OK on a Porsche works racer that has a 30 hour engine rebuild life, but for us mere mortals that would be horrified with a repair bill every 30 hours, the challenge was to create a filtration system that looks period, and also does not affect the critical area at the mouth of the trumpet for optimum power.
We believe that we have succeeded in producing a filtration system, that not only looks good, it is light and practical, easy to fit and is dyno tested to affect minimum horsepower loss.
The modern high flow foam, coupled with an aluminium internal structure to prevent loss of shape. The specially designed rubber seals secure to the intake trumpets and the light weight construction ensures stability of fit.
