This 1984 model 3.2 Carrera was originally supplied new in Germany via Porsche dealer ‘Voets Autozentrum’ Braunschweig in February 1984
The original German Fahrzeugbrief is present and shows 2 owners listed, therefore we understand this is a 3 owner car from new.

It was imported into the UK in 1998 by Tony Corlett. Tony is an aficionado of this model, and wrote the definitive ‘bible’ on the model ‘Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera’ (a copy of the book is included in the sale) As the author of the book, and also the Porsche Club Great Britain model specialist for 20+ Years, you can be assured that Tony knew how to purchase the very best vehicle for his long term enjoyment, and importantly how to preserve such an original example.

Finished in the stunning and classic combination of Slate Blue Metallic (L661) paintwork, with Dark Blue Leather Sport seats wearing the right level of patina. Nicely optioned from new, and remains in the original factory specification (see M options list below) The engine has been subjected to a meticulous refresh, with original parts preserved and restored/refinished to factory original condition. A comprehensive list of the restoration can be provided upon request.

Its original paint throughout, never welded or repaired due to rust or accident damage. The condition of the car, the panel gaps and fit are exactly as the factory intended. Of course there is evidence of use in the fact of it being original paint. There are stonechips to the lacquer on the front facing panels. The paintwork basecoat remains intact, but eighties lacquer durability was known to be questionable, and factory original metallic paint cars all suffer the same wear characteristics. Even the Fuchs alloys are original, unrestored and free from kerbing marks. A lovely feature is the edge of the spokes has worn the paint finish from years of cleaning/polishing – lovely patina 150,000km’s (94,000 miles) original service book is present and stamped from new and with recent service work. It also includes the factory options decal that is located on the underside of the bonnet/hood, and also to be found in the original service book document. Complete with original toolkit, jack, compressor and spare wheel and even the plastic bag to put inside your original wheel in the event of a puncture, that would need to be stored inside the cabin.

The 1984 Model Year was a big step for Porsche with the first of the G-series cars to feature fully electronic engine management system. The result being a very sporty and torquey engine, combined with the lightweight construction of the G-Model chassis to provide a very exciting driving experience in the classic Porsche 911 silhouette. The first Year model also retains some unique features such as the 3-spoke steering wheel (latterly 4-spoke), the ‘tombstone sport seats’ and the Engine oil cooler. Mechanically the car drives very well. The 915 gearbox shifts without fault. It benefits from recent restoration work so that the next owner can be confident of its future use. These cars are only original once – this example is as good as you will find!

Engine restoration – The engine was assessed and found that the oil pressure was very good. A ‘top-end’ rebuild progressed.
New upgraded (993) head studs were installed into the engine cases. The pistons and cylinders were measured and found well within tolerance with minimal wear. New piston rings installed. The cylinder heads were subjected to a concise restoration, with vapour honed finish, new valve guides, new Intake and exhaust valves with valve seats recut. Cylinder head faces were also recut to ensure perfect sealing.
The orginal engine ancilliaries were also restored with original finish to concours condition. Powder coated tinware, zinc plated fasteners. Vapour honed fan assembly with cerakote clear coating for durability. The original exhaust system has also been cerakoted. Fuel injectors flow tested and re-sealed. New crank sensors fitted for future proof reliability
